LICENSING
As standard, all of my already-released works are underneath the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 International.
This is unless negotiated between myself and a commissioner prior to release.To start, media making use of my work non-exclusively will receive no additional charge, yet rights to the work will remain with myself.Media requiring my work to be exclusively dedicated - that being music which cannot appear in other projects across mediums, but I retain the right to post, monetise and promote the work at my own leisure - requires the usage of a commercial license, which will result in an additional calculated 30% charge from the Base Composition Fee (BCF). Rights to the work will remain with myself.A commercial work which is behind direct paywall - unavoidable payment in order for a consumer to have the full experience of the chosen media, paid games, media behind subscription, etc. - as well as requiring exclusive dedication and usage in mass-marketing and advertising requires the purchasing of a broad commercial license. This will incur an additional 100% charge from the BCF. Rights to the work will remain with myself.Finally, a total buyout of all of a work's rights will require an Full Agreement license, which will incur a 200% charge from the BCF. Both the commissioner and myself become joint copyright owners of the selected work.Licenses will last for a duration agreed upon between myself and the commissioner.
COMMISSIONING
Commissioning a work grants the client the agreed license to use the work. Copyright will remain with myself unless copyright assignment is explicitly agreed in writing, and paid for by the commissioner through the previously-mentioned 200% additional charge.Upon completion of work, commissioners may receive:
- Audio Files (.mp3, .WAV, .ogg, etc.)
- Raw Sheet Music (.mxl)
- Isolated instruments (on request)Commissioners may request for properly-formatted sheet music, but this will incur an additional 50% on the base commission's price.
CHARGING
The anatomy of the possible charges
provided to commissioners is as follows:
- Base Composition Fee (Audio Files, Raw Sheet Music, Isolated Instruments)
- Polished sheet music fee, if required (50% of BCF)
- Any license, if required (30-200% of BCF)
- Currency conversion/Pay-pro costs, if required (5% of BCF)
BUDGET AND COST RESTRAINTS
Prices shown within the sheet are flexible depending on individual circumstances and financial restraints. Such is the nature of independent artistic development. I would be open to discussing price adjustment if deemed appropriate and/or necessary.
PAYMENT
Payment must be carried out within seven days directly after the invoice is provided. Where payment requires currency conversion or incurs additional payment-processing costs, an additional 5% fee may apply.
